Clan Currie Opens 2008 Games and Festival Season at Bonnie Brae The Clan Currie Society will open their 2008 Season of Highland Games and Festivals at the Bonnie Brae Scottish Games on Saturday, June 7, 2008. The Games will be held at Bonnie Brae School in Millington, New Jersey. "We think of Bonnie Brae as our clan’s home games in the United States," said Robert Currie, President of the Clan Currie Society. Currie was part of the original planning committee for the first Bonnie Brae Games and served as Director of Piping and Drumming until 1992. In recognition of his efforts in establishing the games, Currie was named Honorary Chieftain for the 1993 gathering.
Produced by East of the Hebrides Entertainments, the Bonnie Brae Scottish Games will feature traditional piping, highland dance, and athletic competitions. In addition to the Bonnie Brae Scottish Games, the Clan Currie Society will be participating in the following Highland Games and Festivals: July 19 – 20, 2008 August 1 – 2, 2008 August 23, 2008 September 19 – 21, 2008 October 25 – 26, 2008 Dates Also Set for 2008 Edition of “The Pipes of Christmas” In addition to Highland Games and Festivals, the Society has set the dates for their tenth anniversary performances of “The Pipes of Christmas.” The popular Celtic Christmas concert returns to Summit, New Jersey on Saturday, December 20 and New York City on Sunday, December 21, 2008.
