Highlights of the “Pipes of Christmas” will again be aired on TV-36, Communities On Cable throughout central New Jersey it was announced today. The videotaping took place at the sold out December 17 concert at Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, NJ. The “Pipes of Christmas” can be seen on the following dates and times:
Now in its eighth year, the program features performances by many leading Scottish and Irish performers, including popular country dance trio Local Hero, Celtic harpist Jennifer Port, and the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band. Rounding out the company are Metropolitan Opera star Mark Delavan and the Solid Brass ensemble. The concert is produced by the Clan Currie Society. Sponsors of the 2006 production included the Grand Summit Hotel, the Irish Pub and Inn in Atlantic City, Stewart’s of Kearny, and Dewar’s 12 Scotch Malt Whisky. Award-Winning Collaboration TV-36 first began broadcasting concert highlights in 2000. Since that time, the program has been the recipient of three Telly Awards and a 2003 Videographer Award for production excellence. The 2003 concert was televised live as a fund raiser for the station. The Telly Awards were founded in 1980 to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable commercials. The competition was later expanded to include film and video productions. In the past 22 years, the Telly Awards have become a well-known and highly respected national competition in which all 50 states have been represented by past winners and finalists. The Telly has become one of the most sought-after awards in the TV, commercial, and video industry. Clan Currie is now accepting reservations for their sixth annual Burns Night gathering.
