Sold-Out “Pipes of Christmas” Concert to Air on Cable Television Screenings Scheduled for Christmas Eve, Day Highlights of Summit’s holiday favorite, “The Pipes of Christmas” will again be aired on TV-36, Communities On Cable it was announced today. “We are delighted to be teaming up again with the Clan Currie Society to bring this popular program to our viewers, said Elaine Becker, Board President of Communities On Cable (TV-36.) This special and unique program is a real treat for our viewers and we are very pleased that this programming has brought national recognition to our community and our public access cable station." The concert, which sold out all 900 available seats in early November, will take place on Saturday, December 17 at Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, NJ. Two performances will be held at 2:00 and 7:30 PM. Now in its seventh year, the program will feature performances by many leading Scottish and Irish performers, including popular country dance trio Local Hero, Celtic harpist Jennifer Port, and the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band. Rounding out the company are Metropolitan Opera star Mark Delavan and the Solid Brass ensemble. The concert is produced by the Clan Currie Society. Sponsors of the 2005 production include the Grand Summit Hotel, the Irish Pub and Inn in Atlantic City, Walkers Shortbread, Stewart’s of Kearny, Dewar’s 12 and Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky. Award-Winning Collaboration TV-36 first began broadcasting concert highlights in 2000. Since that time, the program has been the recipient of three Telly Awards and a 2003 Videographer Award for production excellence. The 2003 concert was televised live as a fund raiser for the station. The production team for the 2005 broadcast includes TV-36 station manager Jesse Patterson, church liaison P.T. (Peggy) Kizzia, and a crew from Metaphor Pictures; a New York based production company specializing in documentary films, television programming, and commercials. The Telly Awards were founded in 1980 to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable commercials. The competition was later expanded to include film and video productions. In the past 22 years, the Telly Awards have become a well-known and highly respected national competition in which all 50 states have been represented by past winners and finalists. The Telly has become one of the most sought-after awards in the TV, commercial, and video industry. Clan Currie is now accepting reservations for their fifth annual Burns Night gathering. The popular dinner dance and whisky tasting event is scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Grand Summit Hotel.
