The Clan Currie Society will make their inaugural visit to the annual Clanjamfry Scottish Festival in Memphis, TN later this month. The festival is scheduled for September 19-21, 2003. The festival will be held on the grounds of the Evergreen Presbyterian Church in the Vollentine-Evergreen historic district neighborhood in midtown Memphis. Joining Clan Currie at Clanjamfry will be Clan Cameron, Clan Elliott, and Clan MacLeod, among others. Clan Forsyth is the Honored Clan of the 2003 Festival. Produced as a fundraiser for the Churchs Recreation Outreach Ministry, the festival will feature traditional piping, highland dance, athletics, as well as a whole host other music and craft demonstrations. There will also be childrens events and a Kirking of the Tartans worship service on Sunday, September 21. Headline entertainment include direct from Scotland, the Macmeanmna Records recording artists, Dochas, Fiddlin Bill Thurmond from Austin, Texas, and the Smithfield Fair trio from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
