The Clan Currie Society announced today that Alastair Robertson, Distillery Manager and Master Distiller of award-winning Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky will be attending their upcoming Burns Supper on Saturday, January 18. Direct from the Isle of Skye in Scotland, Robertson will introduce a special tasting of newly-released 20 year old cask strength Talisker. Burns Supper guests will be among the privileged few who will enjoy this malt as only 9,000 bottles have been produced for the worldwide market. Alastair grew up in and around some of the finest whisky distilleries in Scotland, which led him to his perfectly-matched calling and true passion – the timeless art of single-malt whisky distillation. Alastair’s resume includes experience at more than 27 whisky distilleries throughout Scotland. Beginning his career in cooperage and warehousing positions, he earned the opportunity to try his hand in operations and distillery management. After a year and a half-long comprehensive and in-depth course of studying all facets of scotch whisky production and management, he was awarded his current post. His stated goal is to maintain the character and consistency of Talisker.
